Walking Tour Würzburg Old Town: Lively, diverse flair with a historical background
Join us on a tour of discovery through the lively heart of Würzburg with its long history and historic buildings tucked away in side streets just waiting to tell you their tales. Walk along the city moat, learn about the long traditions of craftsmanship in Würzburg, and learn more about which ones can still be found here today.

Discover hidden gems, delicious culinary delicacies, and insider tips as you stroll past the city’s most beautiful sights, including the Old Main Bridge, the unusual Egyptian obelisk in the city center, and the oldest townhouse in the city from the days of Tilman Riemenschneider, the prolific German sculptor and woodcarver active in Würzburg during the late 15th and early 16th centuries.

Not only will you follow in the footsteps of famous personalities of the past, but you’ll also learn of the secret desires of the Hollywood stars. Prepare to be enchanted by the unique diversity of the area, which combines the hustle and bustle of a student city with the classic flair of more than 1,300 years of history; it’s nothing out of the ordinary to see old-fashioned stores and coffee houses side by side with innovative and alternative shops and pop-ups.

Tasty samples from the following locales:

  • a market stall with homemade delicacies
  • a café with sewing courses and musical events
  • a vegetarian, gluten-free restaurant
  • a shoe store with freshly mixed juices
  • a coffee shop with a roasting viewing platform
  • an ice cream parlor with Italian dishes
  • a cake café with 25 kinds of cheesecake

For most, the food samples are enough to constitute a full lunch. Please inform us of any special dietary requirements (vegetarian, diabetic etc). We will try to tailor our tour accordingly.
Please Note: The tour is not suitable for vegans, people with lactose or gluten intolerance, or those with nut allergies.
