Schanzen-Tour

Between the Schanze and St. Pauli
Wander with us through the alternative Schanze district and look behind the scenes of this youthful part of town. Hip, political and colorful – live its history while tasting culinary delights from small, specially selected establishments.

We’ll then head for St. Pauli and become acquainted with its long-established shops and traditional recipes. Far from the Reeperbahn, a wide variety of social classes live in parallel. Whith rents rising rapidly, this former place of refuge for undesirables is slowly becoming the next trendy neighborhood.

During the Schanzen-Tour, you will learn about its history, architecture and attractive entertainment offerings. You will be able to try various different culinary specialities and uncover the tasty secrets of the Schanze and St. Pauli.  Come and get to know Hamburg through its food, culture and people.

 

Delicious food samples from:

  • a little café
  • a cozy cafe with homemade goodies
  • a food stall in the Kiez (near Reeperbahn)
  • a family-run bakery
  • an old Turkish restaurant (grill)
  • a Portuguese café
  • an organic restaurant

For most, the food samples are enough to constitute a full lunch. Please inform us of any special dietary requirements (vegetarian, diabetic etc). We will try to tailor our tour accordingly.
