Walking Tour Hamburg-Grindel: Full of contrasts and steeped in history
Our tour starts at the university, where we will explore the student environment.  We’ll wander down Grindelallee with its big-city feeling, as well as the colorful Grindelhof. Small shops, boutiques selling handmade crafts, and long-established restaurants all make up a special mix for us to enjoy.

The tour leads past opulent villas on the well-known Rothenbaumchaussee. We’ll discover strong contrasts and captivating stories, plus show you carefully selected cafes and shops whose culinary creations you will be able to taste for yourself.

In three hours, we would like to give a colorful picture of the district. You will learn about the history, urban development and the cultural offerings in this corner of Hamburg. And of course, the enjoyment comes naturally: delicious dishes from seven selected cafes, bistros and traditional shops await you!

Delicious tasting samples from the following local businesses:

  • a young and innovative restaurant
  • an ice cream shop with a rich history
  • a vegetarian snack stand
  • a specialist in Franco-Vietnamese delicacies
  • a long-established Italian spot
  • an original café
  • a Colonial Goods shop

For most, the food samples are enough to constitute a full lunch. Please inform us of any special dietary requirements (vegetarian, diabetic etc). We will try to tailor our tour accordingly.
Please Note: The tour is not suitable for vegans, people with lactose or gluten intolerance, or those with nut allergies.
