Newsletter eat-the-world.com 4th edition

Dear Customers,

Welcome to the fourth edition of the eat-the-world newsletter. The year is drawing to a close while the Christmas period is just beginning, with its markets and presents. Why not just lie back and take time out with the latest news from eat-the-world. There’s also a competition, for which we’ve sent out photographers in all three cities - just wait and see.

Christmas competition

As is befitting of an exciting run-up to Christmas, we’d like to tell you about our new competition. You can look forward to some great presents before Christmas has even arrived, to make this dark time of year a little sweeter. At regular intervals up until Christmas you’ll have the chance to win two vouchers worth €60 to spend on a tour of your choice in Berlin, Hamburg or Munich. In addition, we’re also giving away special prizes from our specially-selected culinary partners.

Competition rules: spot the difference
Up until Christmas we’ll be publishing at regular intervals two almost identical photos of a delicious display by our culinary partners which differ only very slightly. The aim of our competition is to find the mistakes. From those participants who identify all of the mistakes correctly, we’re giving away two tickets for our food and culture tours in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. Simply send us an e-mail listing the mistakes you’ve found to info@eat-the-world.com.
The closing date of the competition is 2pm on Friday, 26.11.2010.  By the way, these photos were taken by our partner on the Haidhausen Tour in Munich, "Käs Müller".  Thank you very much!

Back to the competition

As already mentioned, in the run-up to Christmas we’re giving you regular opportunities to win. You’ll find the first photo of the competition in this edition of our newsletter. However, to make sure that you won’t be constantly bombarded with unwanted post from us, we’re offering other ways to get the latest photos for the Christmas competition. Recipe: delicious mulled wine

Planning a cosy evening with friends and family in the run-up to Christmas? Then why not make some homemade mulled wine for your guests? For a couple of weeks now, we’ve been working together with Weinbar Sankt Pauli in Hamburg, where one of the owners, Raphael, has revealed to us one of his recipes for mulled wine. Not only is this mulled wine absolutely delicious, it’s also a winter warmer on those cold days. Here’s the recipe.  Thanks Raphael!

Mulled wine à la Weinbar Sankt Pauli

18 x 200ml glasses

3 x 750ml bottes of red wine
¾ litre black tea, 3 bags
6 cinnamon sticks
10 cloves
2 oranges
1lemon
1 apple
Honey
Sugar

Heat the red wine slowly in a large pan.  Don’t let the wine boil!  Wash the apple, take out the core and cut into slices. Squeeze the lemon and orange and strain the juice.

Add all of the ingredients for the mulled wine to the pan (except the sugar) and leave to infuse for approximately 20 minutes.

Sweeten with honey and a  little sugar.

Stuck for Christmas present ideas?

Christmas is rapidly closing in. Fed up with socks and ties, but still don’t know what to leave under the Christmas tree for your loved ones? Then we have a great tip for you. Simply give them one of our fantastic vouchers for a food and culture tour in Berlin, Hamburg or Munich. The recipient can choose the tour and city themselves. Simply select either an electronic voucher code by e-mail (sent to your e-mailbox immediately, free of charge) or a voucher card featuring your own message sent by post (€5).
