Walking Tour Erfurt-Andreas Quarter: Walk through the lovingly restored portion of the Old Town district
Located in the northern section of Erfurt's Old Town district, you will find the picturesque Andreas Quarter, which invites you to relax and take your time as you marvel at its small half-timbered houses and idyllic courtyards. Enjoy a rousing stroll through the dreamy alleys between Andreasstraße and Michaelisstraße as you take in exciting narratives and culinary delights.

We will take you on an exploratory culinary journey as we bridge the past and present of this former artisan quarter. Spared from demolition by committed activists during the GDR period, the area has since blossomed and is now one of the most sought-after residential areas; the modern development of the quarter is the most evident in the independent shops and bars which line the neighborhood.

The tour will lead you past the old university, the synagogue with its special treasure, the Krämerbrücke bridge, Erfurt's city landmark, and the poignant St Augustine's Monastery, all of which will make you feel as if you’ve been transported back in time. Join us on a journey from the Middle Ages to the present day as you are sure to be enchanted by the lively charm of the Andreas Quarter.

Tasty food samples from the following locales:

  • a small, original bakery
  • a traditional coffee house with an Art Nouveau ambiance
