Walking Tour Braunschweig-Magni Quarter: Charming neighborhood in the heart of downtown
Join us on a journey of discovery through one of the oldest districts of Braunschweig, the Magni Quarter, and the area surrounding the Old Town Market and the Cabbage Market. We begin our excursion in an area constantly on the move which, despite a somber reputation, flourished dynamically and developed into a trendy entertainment district.

Dive right into the past with us as we explore the deep-rooted and traditional Old Town Market—which has served as the major trading center of the city since the 12th century—and become enchanted by the variety of historic facades from different eras that once surrounded the impressive Cabbage Market. Then stroll east towards the Magni Quarter with a stop at the centrally located Magni Church Square and St. Magni Church, which was consecrated in 1031. Leisurely saunter past the pretty timber-framed houses, small cafés, and welcoming shops as you take in the quarter’s cozy atmosphere.

Accompany us through a historic neighborhood full of culture and history. Not just for night owls and students, the quarter’s numerous gastronomic delights make it quite popular amongst historical and culinary lovers as well. Come along on our cultural, historical, and culinary voyage and experience Braunschweig in a completely new way!
