Walking Tour Augsburg-Ulrichsviertel: A journey through southern Augsburg
Historic mansions, grand churches, and splendid trams are typically what visitors first notice about Augsburg, but narrow alleys, numerous canals, and a lot of greenery are also quite prevalent in the city. It should come as no surprise then that Augsburg is one of the greenest cities in Germany, and its historic water industry has even made Augsburg a candidate for the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Our tour begins with the notable buildings on Zeugplatz where we will first admire the palaces of some of Augsburg’s greatest families. Our journey will lead us down the narrow streets of medieval craftsmanship to the original southern city border. And of course a stopover in in one of Augsburg’s most popular residential districts is not to be missed!

During our Augsburg Ulrich Quarter tour you will be able to experience the culture of the neighborhood firsthand as you learn about the city’s history and architecture, and all while sampling a variety of culinary treats! Join us and discover Augsburg through its food, culture, and people!

Tasty samples from the following locales:

  • a homey eatery with culinary richness
  • a jewel in a historical palace
  • a mom and pop store with Mediterranean specialties
  • a cozy shop with a delicious variety of culinary leaves
  • an integrative café
  • a local supply shop with a modern twist
  • an award-winning farm shop

For most, the food samples are enough to constitute a full lunch. Please inform us of any special dietary requirements (vegetarian, diabetic etc). We will try to tailor our tour accordingly.
Please Note: The tour is not suitable for vegans, people with lactose or gluten intolerance, or those with nut allergies.
